Louisville, Ky. – May 21, 2026 – For the fourth consecutive season, Springfield College softball senior
Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) has been chosen as an All-Region honoree from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
DeRosa picked up her third career nod to the NFCA All-Region First Team and adds it to her Third Team selection in 2025. She was one of 16 student-athletes chosen for All-Region honors this year and one of seven who were placed on the First Team. In fact, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) made up seven of 13 honorees on the NFCA All-Region II First Team in 2026.
DeRosa played and started in 41 games this season both in the field and in the circle for Springfield. As a pitcher, DeRosa went 17-5 with a 1.73 earned run average in 150.0 innings. The senior pitched 13 complete games including six shutouts and struck out a career-best 128 batters. At the plate, DeRosa batted .453 to go along with 63 hits, nine doubles, four triples, a home run, 42 RBI and scored 27 runs. She wraps up her career as the program's all-time career hits leader with 253 hits while also being third all-time in career runs scored, fourth all-time in career batting average with .422 and fifth all-time in career RBI with 120.
Springfield ended the 2026 season with a record of 27-14 and was the third seed in this year's NEWMAC Championship Tournament. DeRosa and the Pride picked up a pair of conference tournament wins over Coast Guard (1-0) and Wellesley (6-0) and reached the second day of the seven-team championship playoffs.
