Louisville, Ky. — August 24, 2026 — The Springfield College softball team has been honored with multiple academic awards from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). The Pride earned the NFCA Team Academic Award, posting one of the top grade point averages in Division III while 18 student-athletes earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades for their hard work in the classroom and on the field this past year.
The Pride earned the ninth best grade point average across NCAA Division III to earned NFCA Team Academic Award honors with a 3.734 GPA during the 2025-26 academic year and were also joined by New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Wheaton in the top ten. The eight other schools rounding out the top ten were Bates College, University of Hartford, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Johnson & Wales University, Trine University, Stevens Institute of Technology, Neumann University and Lancaster Bible College. Eight NEWMAC teams were also recognized with NFCA Team Academic Awards.
To be eligible for the NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA. There were a total of 2,493 NCAA Division III student-athletes to earn the honor.
The 18 individuals who garnered the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades include Haley Ball (Westbrook, Maine), Addy Bohlander (Theills, N.Y.), Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.), Brynlee Eckles (Ellington, Conn.), Taylor Falotico (Windsor, Conn.), Kate Katsetos (Brewster, N.Y.), Madison King (Burlington, Mass.), Aurora Levesque (Weston, Conn.), Lily McCauliffe (Greenwich, N.Y.), Carissa Pecchia (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), Rachel Powers (Tigard, Ore.), Julia Rimshnick (Staten Island, N.Y.), Emilia Santiago (West Hartford, Conn.), Tessa Spingola (Rindge, N.H.), Sammy Swords (Plano, Tx.), Madi Testo (Keene, N.H.), Maddie Tse (Glenville, N.Y.) and Christina Vlahakis (Rockville Centre, N.Y.).
This past season, Springfield went 27-14 overall while winning 14 games in NEWMAC play as the Pride earned the third seed in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament.
