Sophia Galdamez was dominant on the pin with 27 kills and 17 digs, while Noelle Turksy handed out 48 assists to go along wiht 17 digs.  Bella Fleeger produced nine blocks, Elizabeth Atkinson added eight blocks, and Maddie James chipped in seven blocks as the Bears held Springfield to a .120 hitting percentage thanks to 17.0 team blocks.

Coast Guard's offense was impressive in the opening set as the visitors totaled 17 kills, hitting .412 as a team, thanks to seven kills from Amanda Dake.  The Pride held an 8-7 advantage, but the Bears took control with a 6-1 push as the Pride whistled for a timeout after Dake's fifth kill of the early going.  The Bears would push it to 17-11 and complete the 25-19 win on Galdamez's sixth kill of the evening.

Springfield took advantage of 11 Coast Guard hitting errors to overcome a slow start, as Springfield rallied for a 13-8 deficit to take a 18-17 edge on a huge block from Kylie Wixted (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Julia O'Connor (Rocky Hill, Conn.).  After the teams traded points, the Pride closed out the frame on a 6-2 push, as a Coast Guard service error gave Springfield the 25-22 in.

The third set featured 12 ties and nine lead changes and things looked bleek for the Pride as it trailed 18-13.  However, out of a timeout, Springfield poured on an 11-4 burst fueled behind the tremendous play of Bancroft, as she took over the match to give the Pride set point at 24-22.  The set would go to extra points, and after running out of substitutions, Springfield's Moira Long was left with defensive specialists Claire Dorr (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Briana Tovar (Tucson, Ariz.) in the front row. With the score knotted at 29, Wixted converted a kill out of the middle and Labadorf deliverd her first kill of the night for the 31-29 triumph.

Coast Guard jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fourth and lead by as many as six at 15-9 before Springfield rattled off five-straight points, getting a block from Wixted and Labadorf, to force the visitors into a timeout.  Out of the break, the Bears woud close the frame on a 10-3 surge as it needed just six kills in the entire set as it benefitted from 12 Springfield hitting errors.

Jamie Albrecht (Selden, N.Y.) ripped back-to-back kills to give Springfield an 8-5 cushion in the fifth and Bancroft would elevate for a stuff block to provide the hosts with match point at 14-9.  However, Atkinson and Fleeger answered with a block and Galdamez registered four-consecutive kills to knot things up at 14-all.  Bancroft and Daldamez would trade kills before a Coast Guard service error and O'Connor's third kill of the set wrapped up the 17-15 win.

This weekend, Springfield will compete in the New England Challenge and take on Middlebury, Williams, and Tufts.
