Box Score 2 April 24, 2021 - Worcester, Mass. - Competing for the first time in a month, the Springfield College baseball program returned to action on Saturday afternoon against Clark University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play at Granger Field. The Pride dropped both games to the Cougars by scores of 7-2 and 14-7.
Springfield drops to 1-3 on the season while Clark improves to 3-7. The Pride and Cougars will compete in another doubleheader at Springfield College on Sunday beginning at 1 pm.

Game One - Clark 7, Springfield 2
Noah Bleakley (Granby, Mass.) got the start on the mound for the Pride, tossing four innings and recording four strikeouts. Brendan Kirck (Hampden, Conn.) took over in the bottom of the fifth inning for Springfield.
Springfield took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Jack Cooney (Pittsfield, Mass.) batted in Michael Barrett (Longmeadow, Mass.), who singled earlier in the inning for the Pride.
The Cougars scored five unanswered runs over three innings, including three runs in the bottom of the fourth to earn a 5-1 lead. In the top of the fifth, Springfield would cut into the Clark lead as Ryan Smith (Millis, Mass.) roped a ball over the left field fence, making the Cougars lead 5-2. Clark would score in the bottom of the frame off a wild pitch to keep a 6-2 edge over the Pride. From there, Kirck and the Springfield infield held the Clark batters at bay by only giving up one hit in the sixth and forcing a key double play in the seventh.
The Cougars would respond once again with an RBI single from Nick Jordan in the bottom of the eighth that would secure the 7-2 win in the first of two games.
Game Two - Clark 14, Springfield 7-
Torsten Sloan Anderson recorded the victory for the Cougars after pitching five innings and striking out six batters. In relief, Max Moss gave up six runs off five hits.
Springfield used six pitchers in the outing.
In the bottom of the second, Clark would score first with a RBI triple from Casabianc to make the score 1-0 for the home team. In the next frame, Springfield would tie the game at 1-1 as Barrett came home on a wild pitch. From there, Clark would score five unanswered runs, including two home runs in third.
In the top of the seventh, Springfield used a six-run, six-hit rally to close Clark's lead to 8-7. Barrett jacked a three-run homer to left center, while Smith chopped a single to left to bring in two runs for the Pride.
Clark would answer back and knock out two more homers, one from Ham and another from Porter, which pushed the Cougars' lead to 13-7. To finish off the six-run inning, Nick Jordan would hit an RBI single to make the lead, and eventual final score, 14-7 for Clark.
