Box Score 2 Worcester, Mass. - April 8, 2022- The Springfield College softball program earned a doubleheader sweep on the road against Clark University on Friday afternoon with a 12-4 victory and a 12-1 win in six innings in New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play.
Springfield improves to 18-4 on the season and 4-0 in the league.
The Pride will play host to Wellesley on Sunday at 1:00.

Springfield 12, Clark 4
Gillian Kane (New Canaan, Conn.) faced 33 batters in seven innings of work and produced four strikeouts and only two earned runs to improve to 10-1 in the the circle this season.
The Pride faced a 2-0 deficit after the first inning as Clark scored two runs in the opening frame off a wild pitch. Springfield could not get anything going until the fourth inning as the Pride earned its first run off a bases loaded walk, before Marissa Seyfert (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Kayla Stvan (Parlin, N.J.) each knocked in RBI base hits to give Springfield a 3-2 lead.
The Pride tacked on six more runs in the fifth inning highlighted by a two-run double by Sam Witmer (Drexel Hill, Pa.) and was capped off by a sac fly to left by Dana Serricchio (Stamford, Conn.) to push Springfield's advantage to 9-2. The Cougars dipped into the lead in the fifth after a Springfield error scored a run for the hosts, however, the Pride added runs in the sixth and seventh to cruise to the 12-4 victory.
Springfield 12, Clark 1 (six innings)
The Pride took the first lead of the game in the third inning as Fernandez scored off a wild pitch to put Springfield ahead 1-0. From there, the Pride erupted for six runs in the top of the fourth as Alli Olsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) punched a home run over the center field fence to help Springfield take a 7-0 lead after four innings. Clark tapped in two hits in the bottom of the frame that allowed the hosts to score a run and make the score 7-1.
Springfield closed out the game in the sixth inning with five more runs as four players registered RBI hits in the frame to take a 12-1 win over Cougars.
