Box Score 2 Clermont, Fla. - March 17, 2023 - The Springfield College softball concluded a great week in Florida as they earned two more victories, downing Wisconsin Lutheran, 4-0, before easing past Wisconsin-River Falls, 10-3. The Pride is now 9-1 on the season and will return to action next Thursday when it travels to face Eastern Connecticut.

Carissa Pecchia (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) and Alli Olsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) each picked up two hits as the Pride earned the shutout victory. Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) delivered her fourth victory of the season as she tossed five innings, giving up two hits.
DeRosa got out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the fifth as she got a lineout to center, only to have the Pride produce the only runs of the game in the bottom half. After loading up the bases with two outs, Pecchia ripped a bases-clearing double to score three runs and would later come around to score on an error.
Springfield 10, Wisconsin-River Falls 3
The Pride pounded 13 hits in the game, with Amelia DeRosa went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Both Pecchia and Kristen Acocella's (Redding, Conn.) also totaled two hits, while Gillian Kane (New Canaan, Conn.) was one of three pitchers for the Pride and earned the win after going 3.2 innings of work.
After neither team scored through the first two innings, DeRosa connected for an infield single and would score when Acocella recorded a run-scoring double in the third. Three more runs would come in the fourth, all with two outs, as the scoring spree would start when Maggie Britt (Bridgeport, Conn.) walked, stole second, and moved to third on a wild pitch before scoring on an error. DeRosa and Pecchia later added run-scoring singles as Springfield extended its lead to 4-0.
UW-River Falls answered back with three runs in the bottom half, but Springfield would respond as Michaela Ponticello (Gloversville, N.Y.) blasted a solo shot in the fifth. The Pride tacked on three runs in the sixth as it loaded the bases with no outs. Pecchia and Acocella recorded RBI, before DeRosa closed out the scoring with a two-run double in the seventh.
