Game One - Springfield 1, Babson 0

Each team had five hits in the game as gusty winds were blowing in all day at Archie Allen Field.  Springfield starter Blake Roberge (Warwick, R.I.) struck out four and gave up five hits in six innings of work, while reliever Jack DeGirolamo (Newington, Conn.) was dominant in the final three innings, not allowing a hit and striking out one en route to the victory.

Roberge got out of a bases loaded jam in the first with a key strikeout to end the frame, and would strand runners on second and third in the fifth with a pop out and strike out.

The Pride was unable to get a run across in the sixth despite runners on second and third, but would capitalize for the game's only run in the eighth.  Joe Traversa (Pittsfield, Mass.) started off the inning with a base knock through the left side and would move into scoring position after Michael Barrett (Longmeadow, Mass.) was hit by a pitch.  Two batters later, Ryan Sorgi (Braintree, Mass.) connected for a sacrifice fly to right to plate Traversa.

Game Two - Babson 7, Springfield 4

Andrew McCarty (Meriden, Conn.) had three of the Pride's nine hits in the setback as Babson was able to salvage the split.

The visitors struck for five runs in the second inning to take early control, highlighted by a two-run triple.  Babson pushed its lead to 6-0 with a sacrifice fly in the fourth, but the Pride would get a run back in the bottom half as it strung together three-straight two-out singles as Noah Diamond (Glastonbury, Conn.) cracked a base knock to right to score Ryan Sorgi (Braintree, Mass.).

McCarty led off the fifth with a double and Michael Barrett (Longmeadow, Mass.) was able to drive in the Pride's second run of the game with a two-out single. Springfield pulled within 6-4 in the second as the hosts scored two runs on an error by Babson after Joe Traversa (Pittsfield, Mass.) led off with a single and Barrett earned a walk.

However, Babson was able to put together three hits in the ninth for an insurance run en route to the 7-4 win.
