Louisville, Ky. – August 4, 2023 – The Springfield College softball program has been honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as 13 student-athletes earned Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete accolades from the organization this year for their hard work in the classroom and on the field.

To be eligible for the NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the 2022-23 academic year. This year's list was compiled of 2,369 student-athletes from the Division III ranks, which was second most across all levels.

As a team, Springfield College posted a grade point average of 3.653, which ranked 23rd across NCAA Division III and second in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) this year. Springfield was one of five schools in the league to earn the Easton/NFCA Team Academic Award.

The individuals who garnered Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition included Maggie Britt (Bridgeport, Conn.), Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.), Lyndsay Donston (South Windsor, Conn.), Mackenzie Doyle (Glocester, R.I.), Emily Gell (Trumbull, Conn.), Callie Gendron (Berlin, Conn.), Gillian Kane (New Canaan, Conn.), Kate Katsetos (Brewster, N.Y.), Alli Olsen (Ridgewood, N.J.), Carissa Pecchia (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), Ashley Pugliese (Huntington Station, N.Y.), Ava Rainone (White Plains, N.Y.) and Dana Serricchio (Stamford, Conn.).

Springfield College softball capped its 2023 season with 35 wins, the second most victories in a single season in program history. The Pride also reached the NEWMAC Championship finals for the third time since the 2017 season after walk-off wins over Coast Guard and Babson during their postseason tournament run.
