Springfield, Mass. - October 29, 2024 - With the 2024-25 season set to get underway this week, Springfield College's Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) appeared in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Coaches Preseason Rankings.

Deguire begins his senior year ranked sixth nationally at 174 pounds and is the top-ranked wrestler for the region in the weight class.  Before his season was cut short to an injury last year, Deguire owned a 10-0 record, including eight pins, as he won both the Ithaca Invitational and Doug Parker Invitational and was ranked third nationally at 174 pounds.   

One of the most electric wrestlers in the nation, Deguire owns a career record of 69-11, which includes 57 wins by pinfall.  At the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships, he took third at 157 pounds and set a NCAA record for most pins in a championship tournament as he produced six pinfalls.

Springfield begins the season on Friday as it heads to the Ithaca Invitational.
