Springfield, Mass. - February 25, 2024 - Several members of the Springfield College wrestling team competed in the NEWA Futures at Western New England on Sunday.

As a team, the Pride five student-athletes place in the tournament as the squad scored 89 points to finish fourth among 17 teams in the field. 

Jack Callahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) was dominant en route to winning the 125 pound title as he produced a technical fall and three pins, including over Caleb Massari from Castleton in 3:35 for first-place honors. 

At 149 pounds, Ty Stewart (Dracut, Mass.) finished third as he bounced back from a semifinal loss with a 5-0 decision against Vincent Faldetta of Johnson & Wales in the consolation finals. 

Ariel Escalante (Philadelphia, Pa) also finished fourth at 125 pounds, Oliver Parker (Pawtucket, R.I.) placed fifth at 184, and Kayo Torres (Sandwich, Mass.) took sixth at 157.
