Springfield, Mass. - March 19, 2024 - The Springfield College women's gymnastics team had five student-athletes qualify to compete in the 2024 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships, which will be hosted by Ursinus on Saturday, March 23.
Under the direction of first-year head coach
Diana Gallagher, the Pride's five individual national qualifiers after taking sixth at the NCGA East Regional Championships. Graduate student
Sophia LeBlanc (Waltham, Mass.) will compete in the all-around after finishing as the regional runner-up in the regional event with a 38.50. Individually,
Annie Kiley (Taneytown, Md.), Julia Reer (Cedar Grove, N.J.), Kelly McGuinness (Groton, Mass.), and
Ayako Maeda (Yokohama, Japan) will compete in one event each. Kiley, who was the national runner-up on the vault last year,
will again compete in the vault this season. Reer qualified to compete on the floor, while McGuinness will represent the Pride on the balance beam, and Maeda will appear on the uneven bars.
