Springfield, Mass. – August 14, 2024 – The Springfield College women's gymnastics program was once again recognized for its efforts in the classroom as it earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.8038 during the 2023-24 academic year.
Springfield produced the top grade point average in Division III marking the fifth time since 2018 that the Pride have accomplished the feat. In fact, of the 78 team s listed in the national rankings, Springfield College posted the fourth-highest GPA in all of collegiate women's gymnastics only behind Alaska-Anchorage (3.8678), Southern Utah (3.8584) and San Jose State (3.8295).
Additionally, this season, 19 Springfield College student-athletes were named as Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-Americans. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must produce a 3.50 GPA or better during the academic year. Six of the 19 members of the Springfield College women's gymnastics team tallied a perfect 4.00 GPA including
Brianna Cassin (Granby, Conn.),
Delaney LaViolette (Holden, Mass),
Elsie Gardiner (Tucson, Ariz.),
Julia Reer (Cedar Grove, N.J.),
Lilly Thibeault (Saunderstown, R.I.) and
Sophia LeBlanc (Waltham, Mass.).
