Brunswick, Maine – September 20, 2024 – The Springfield College women's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Division III Northeast Regional Championship today on the campus of Bowdoin College.

In doubles play, Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) and Ramida Manataweewat (Bangkok, Thailand) were bested by Mia Kintrioglou and Greta Stechschulte of Amherst, 8-4, in the round of 48.

In the "A" singles draw, Manataweewat was edged by Elizabeth Doak of Middlebury, 6-3, 6-2 in the opening round of 64, while Vettayawaikoon was topped by Claudia Miller of Middlebury, 6-0, 6-1.

In the "B" singles draw, Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) was topped by Olivia Gidlow of Bates, 8-2, in while Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) fell to Grace Starcher of Babson, 8-3 in the opening round.

Springfield will host Colby-Sawyer College in a dual match on Wednesday, October 2 for its first home match of the 2024-2025 campaign at 3:30 pm.
