Springfield, Mass. - April 16, 2026 - The Springfield College women's tennis team defeated Western New England in a nonconference matchup on the Appleton Tennis Courts, 7-0.
The Pride improve to 9-5 overall while the Golden Bears drop to 3-15.
Natalia Peyón (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) and Erica Jud (Glen Head, N.Y.) shutout their opponents at No. 2 doubles, winning 6-0. Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) and Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) won at No. 1 by a score of 6-1 as Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) and Catie Seklecki (Southwick, Mass.) won 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Springfield swept singles in straight sets as Western New England scored more than two points in only two sets against the Pride. McGoldrick blanked Lauren Bilodeau at No. 3 singles by scores of 6-0, 6-0 as Jud won at No. 1 by scores of 6-2, 6-0 and Elliott won at No. 3 by scores of 6-2, 6-1. Grace Tyler (Longmeadow, Mass.) defeated Yasmine Giaclone by scores of 6-1, 6-0 before Elizabeth Houdelette (Marion, Mass.) won at No. 4 by scores of 7-6, 6-4 and Seklecki won at No. 6 by scores of 6-1, 6-1.
The Pride head to Babson on Saturday for a 1:30 pm New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup.
