Danbury, Conn. - December 17, 2025 - Springfield College field hockey first-year Rachel Simkewicz (Westminster, Mass.) was named the 2025 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Field Hockey Rookie of the Year while Clare Moore (New Preston, Conn.) earned a spot on the All-ECAC Team as a defender. Both student-athletes played a pivotal part in helping the Pride to its most wins since 2017 and an appearance in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament Semifinals. 

Simkewicz was most recently named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Region I First Team. She was also named the 2025 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year while earning a spot on the All-Conference First Team earlier this fall. Simkewicz had a team-best 36 points, leading the team with 16 goals while also dishing out four assists. She was the top-scoring first year and ranked third in the NEWMAC in goals and fifth in points. 

Moore also had an impressive first season with the Pride being named to the All-ECAC Team after being a NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team selection. Moore quickly made her presence known as she became a go-to on penalty corners scoring seven goals and having four assists on the season. She helped anchor a defense that allowed the fourth-fewest goals in the NEWMAC and the least number of goals in program history since 2008.
