Marlborough, Mass. - December 8, 2025 - Springfield College women's basketball senior forward
Carrie Hess (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Hess
put up career-high point totals in back-to-back games, leading the Pride to wins over both Worcester State and Lasell this week. Hess began the week with 20 points in a 75-50 victory over the Lancers before she put up 29 points in a 76-68 win over the Lasers. In nearly 67 minutes of play, Hess shot at a 66.7 percent clip from the floor (22-for-33) and buried all three of her attempts from behind the arc. The junior forward also added ten rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block this week for the Pride.
Springfield will host nationally-ranked No. 13/14 Trinity (Conn.) tonight at 7:00 pm in Blake Arena.
