Waltham, Mass. – April 18, 2025 – The Springfield College women's tennis team fell to Brandeis University, 7-0, on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.
Brandeis improved to 9-6 in its final regular season match of the year, while Springfield fell to 8-5.
Brandeis won all three doubles matches with the closes contest coming at No. 1 as Rebecca Suarez and Bhakti Parwani clipped
Ramida Manataweewat (Bangkok, Thailand) and
Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand), 6-4. The Judges went on to win 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 1 at No. 3.
In singles play, the Judges won all six matches in straight sets. Vettawayawaikoon and Manataweewat played the closest contests of the day as Suarez topped Vettayawaikoon, 6-3, 6-2, while Parwani defeated Manataweewat, 6-4, 6-2. Brandeis won the remaining four singles contests easily only dropping a total of five games.
Springfield will host nationally-ranked Babson College on Saturday at 1:30 pm on the Appleton Tennis Courts.
