Springfield, Mass. – April 24, 2025 – The Springfield College women's lacrosse program has earned the third seed in this week's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Tournament which is slated to begin on Saturday.

Women's lacrosse (13-3) secured the third seed and will play host to sixth seed Wheaton College (8-8) for a quarterfinal tilt on Stagg Field on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm. Springfield women's lacrosse and Wheaton will meet for the second time this season in Western Massachusetts as back on April 5, the Pride rolled past the Lyons, 18-4.

In 39 meetings between Springfield and Wheaton, the Pride hold a 26-13 edge in the series and has won 17 of the 20 contests held in Springfield. The Pride are also 9-1 in the last ten contests between the two sides.

The NEWMAC encourages fans to purchase their mobile tickets in advance of the event to streamline the entry process on game day. Spectators may purchase their mobile tickets online on site but no cash option will be available. General admission tickets will cost $10 for anyone attending who is over the age of 12. Children under 12 and NEWMAC students with a valid institutional ID are free and do not need to purchase a mobile ticket.

Tickets will be scanned at the venue approximately 90 minutes prior to the start of the contest on Saturday afternoon in Springfield.

The winner of Saturday's match will play the winner of No. 2 MIT and No. 7 Salve Regina at the highest remaining seed on Wednesday in the semifinal round. If MIT wins, the game will be in Cambridge, if Salve Regina wins, the game will be in Springfield.
