Six From Women's Lacrosse Named to NEWMAC All-Conference Teams

Springfield, Mass. – May 15, 2025 – Six student-athletes from the Springfield College women's lacrosse team were honored by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) with All-Conference accolades at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

The 2025 NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team consisted of a first team and a second team made up of 16 student-athletes on each representing the best student-athletes from across the conference. Springfield had three first team selections and three second team selections, the most honorees for the Pride have had since the 2018 campaign.

Lily Johnson (Oceanside, N.Y.)Samantha Andresen (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Hannah Hibbert (Center Harbor, N.H.) were named to the All-NEWMAC First Team, while Izzy Lalancette (Feeding Hills, Mass.)Kyana Alvarado (Westfield, Mass.) and Abby Taylor (Cumberland Foreside, Maine) were named to the All-NEWMAC Second Team. 

Johnson led Springfield with 44 goals and 62 points to go along with 18 assists, which ranked second most on the team. The junior also scooped up 19 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers in 18 games for the Pride this spring. Andresen ranked second on the team in goals and points with 41 and 43, respectively, to go along with a pair of assists. Andresen registered a team-best 57 draw controls, scooped up 17 ground balls and caused eight turnovers.

Hibbert led Springfield with 22 caused turnovers and ranked third in both draw controls with 40 and ground balls with 25 as she played in 17 games for the Pride this spring rounding out the All-NEWMAC First Team selections for Springfield in 2025.

On the second team, Lalancette registered 35 goals to go along with seven assists for 42 points in her sophomore season. Seven of her goals were on free position shots, tied for the most on the team. Defensively, Lalancette tallied 22 ground balls and won 15 draw controls.

Alvarado led Springfield with 32 ground balls and ranked second with 16 caused turnovers as a staple of the Pride's defensive unit as she started and played in 17 contests in her fifth season with the program. Meanwhile, Taylor, who started in all 18 games as a senior, registered eight goals to go along with 14 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and five draw controls.

Springfield capped its season with 14 wins and reached the NEWMAC semifinal round. The 12-1 start to the campaign was the best in program history and began the year with a 15-0 shutout of Western New England, its first clean sheet since 2022.
