Springfield, Mass. – February 11, 2026 – Ahead of the 2026 season, Springfield College senior
Lily Johnson (Oceanside, N.Y.) and junior
Izzy Lalancette (Feeding Hills, Mass.) have been named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American Honorable Mention team.
Johnson and Lalancette were two of ten student-athletes from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) to be selected for Preseason All-America accolades this year. In fact, the NEWMAC had ten of 89 total selections on the entire list this season.
Johnson, an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) All-Region Second Team selection and NEWMAC First Team honoree in 2025, led Springfield with 44 goals and 62 points to go along with 18 assists, which ranked second most on the team. Johnson also scooped up 19 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers in 18 games a season ago.
Lalancette, a NEWMAC Second Team honoree in 2025, registered 35 goals to go along with seven assists for 42 points in her sophomore season. Seven of her goals were on free position shots, tied for the most on the team, while defensively, Lalancette tallied 22 ground balls and won 15 draw controls.
Springfield under the direction of Jenn Thomas, will open its 2026 slate on February 25 at home against Skidmore College at 4:00 pm on Stagg Field.
