Springfield, Mass. – May 12, 2025 – For the first time since 2017, the Springfield College softball team has earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament and will travel to Ithaca, New York for regional play beginning on Thursday, May 15.
Springfield College, which accumulated 30 wins this season, will hit the road for an opening weekend pod with the Pride taking on the host and 24th ranked Bombers. The other side of the regional bracket features No. 9 Texas Lutheran University and UMass Boston. Springfield and Texas Lutheran earned an at-large berths to the tournament out of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), respectively, while Ithaca was crowned champions of the Liberty League and UMass Boston won the Little East Conference.
Springfield and Ithaca have not met since April 1, 2000 and the Pride have a 5-7 record all-time against the Bombers. Springfield has never faced Texas Lutheran and has not played UMass Boston since 2017, also in the NCAA regional championship.
The Pride earned one of 22 at-large berths into the field of 64 teams and enters the championship tournament this weekend with a record of 30-13. The format of the NCAA regional championship tournament is double elimination over three days. The full schedule can be found below and the winner of the Ithaca Regional will take on the winner of the Marshall Regional in a best of three Super Regional May 22-23.

Friday May 16:
Game 3: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 – 11:00 am
Game 4: Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 – 1:30 pm
Game 5: Winner of Game 4 vs. Loser of Game 3 – 4:00 pm
Saturday May 17:
Game 6: Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5 – 11:00 am
Game 7: Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6 – 1:30 pm (If Necessary)
