Springfield, Mass. – July 28, 2025 – Springfield College Director of Athletics, Dr.
Craig Poisson, is pleased to announce that Emily Lange has been named as the Coordinator of Athletic Communications at Springfield College.
"Thank you
Max Berkowitz and Dr.
Craig Poisson for the opportunity to be the Coordinator of Athletic Communications - I am super excited to get started!" said Lange. "Springfield College has a rich history of success across all fields of play, in the community, and in the classroom, making it a great place to call home. I also wanted to thank my family for always supporting me, and extend gratitude to everyone who has helped me get to where I am today."
Lange comes to Alden Street following time as the athletic communications graduate assistant at Southern Connecticut State University. Lange earned her bachelor's degree in sport management in 2024 and is working towards finishing her master's degree in sport and entertainment management before the 2025-26 academic year begins at Springfield.
During her time as the graduate assistant at Southern Connecticut, Lange served as the primary athletic communications contact for the Owls men's soccer, women's gymnastics, softball and men's and women's swimming and diving programs, which compete in Division II's Northeast-10 Conference.
"As part of the expansion of our athletic communications office, we welcome Emily to the team," said Poisson. "With the ever-changing landscape of the profession—especially in the areas of technology, social media, and digital content, it's critical that we have someone who not only understands these platforms but knows how to use them strategically to tell the story of our student-athletes; I look forward to her contributions."
Lange was a four-year member of the Southern Connecticut softball team and co-captain her senior year. She was a two-year member of the student-athlete advisory committee and served on the e-board her senior year. Lange also received the NE10 Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence.
"I am excited to welcome Emily to Springfield College as our new Coordinator of Athletic Communications," said
Max Berkowitz, Director of Strategic Athletic Communications. "As a former student-athlete, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to promoting and highlighting efforts of those both on and off the field. Her energy will be instrumental in telling the story of our current and former student-athletes here at Springfield and I am looking forward to her making an immediate impact as we close in on the start of the academic year."
