Springfield, Mass. – August 26, 2025 – When the Springfield College women's volleyball team opens the 2025 campaign on August 29, it will do so as one of 50 Division III women's volleyball programs from across the country who are receiving votes in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Preseason Division III National Poll.
Last fall, Springfield College women's volleyball produced a record of 22-8 overall and once again advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament under the direction of head coach
Moira Long. This season, Springfield will return All-America setter
Tori Colosimo (Fairport, N.Y.) as well as
Emily Keaveney (Massapequa Park, N.Y.),
Olivia Nealy (Athens, Ga.) and
Ahunna James (Plainville, Mass.) on the outside.
The Pride is one of 25 programs nationwide who are in the receiving votes category of this year's national preseason poll. Springfield is joined by fellow New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) programs Smith and Babson in receiving votes and is one of seven programs from New England to appear in the poll led by MIT, which is ranked eighth overall in the top-25.
Springfield is slated to take on MIT (8), Middlebury (24), Stevens (RV), Smith (RV) and Babson (RV) throughout the course of the 2025 season, all teams who are receiving preseason national attention.
Beginning on Friday, Springfield College will host the Joel B. Dearing '79 Volleyball Classic, which features Westfield State, Skidmore, Rivier and Keene State.
