Box Score Middlebury, Vt. - September 26, 2025 - Select student-athletes from the Springfield College women's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regional Championships on Friday.

First-year Erica Jud (Glen Head, N.Y.) had a great debut in the tournament defeating Amaya Briones from Emerson College, 2-6, 6-4 (10-6) in the round of 64. Jud was ultimately bested by Atena Li of Tufts University, 6-0, 6-0. Li made her way into the round of 32 after upsetting fourth-seeded Rebecca Suarez of Brandeis in the opening round.

Classmate Peyton Gaudreau (Branford, Conn.) also debuted in the championship bracket, but fell to 9-16 seed Tina She of Amherst College, 6-2, 6-1. Alysa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) competed in the B singles draw and was defeated by Willow Assante-LaBash of Bowdoin College, 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles action, Elliott and Natalia Peyon (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) fell to Stephanie Woodbury and Ellie Gershaw of Tufts University, 8-2.

The Pride will return to action next weekend when they host the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, October 4 at 9:30 am.
