Marlborough, Mass. - January 20, 2026 - Five student-athletes from the Springfield College men's swimming and diving program were honored by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) for their impressive performances on Saturday against Middlebury. 

Christian Butler (North Haven, Conn.) was named the Men's Diver of the Week for the fifth time this season after recording NCAA regional qualifying scores with a sweep in both disciplines as he notched a 295.73 on the 3-meter board and a 296.77 on the 1-meter board.

The Pride's 200-medley relay team consisting of Matt Quinney (Belchertown, Mass.), Viet-Anh Nguyen (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Dawson Milligan (Forestdale, Mass.) and Dan Backlund (Duxbury, Mass) were named the Men's Relay of the Week as they began the meet with a first-place time of 1:35.91 which edged the Panthers A relay by less than a second.

Springfield will travel to Amherst on Friday for a dual meet at 5:30 pm.
