Springfield, Mass. - October 1, 2026 - The Springfield College men's basketball team and head coach
Michael McClendon have officially announced the 2026-27 schedule, which is set to kick off on November 6 at Hilbert's Hawks Against Hunger Tip-Off Tournament.
FULL SCHEDULE
The Pride will play a 25-game schedule that includes a pair of tournaments and 16 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contests.
The Pride will open the season with two games in Hilbert's Hawks Against Hunger Tip-Off Tournament which will be played on November 6 and 7th. Springfield then returns to Alden Street for back-to-back home contests against Western New England on the 11th and Hartford on the 12th. After a road matchup against Amherst on the 17th, the Pride close out the month at home against Suffolk on the 21st.
Springfield plays three games in December, starting with a home game against Wheaton on the 2nd before traveling to play Coast Guard on the 9th. They will then head to Williams on the 12th for the team's final game of 2026.
The Pride will host three teams for the Naismith Classic to start the new year. Springfield plays Bridgewater State and Thomas College will play UMass Dartmouth on January 1 before the having the opportunity to play in the consolation or championship game on the 2nd. Springfield will open NEWMAC play on January 6 when they travel to MIT before hosting WPI on the 9th and then will play back-to-back road games against Babson and Salve Regina on the 12th and 14th, respectively. Springfield returns home to play Clark on the 19th, and stays at home to take on Emerson on the 21st. The Pride then travel to Wheaton on the 23rd before they close out the month with two home games against MIT on the 27th and Coast Guard on the 30th.
The Pride wrap up the regular season with five matchups in February, starting on the road against WPI on the 3rd. Springfield will return home for two consecutive home games against Babson on the 6th and Salve Regina on the 10th. On February 17, the Pride will travel to Clark before their final regular season matchup against Emerson on the 20th.
The NEWMAC Tournament will begin on Tuesday, February 23, with the finals taking place on Saturday, February 27. The higher seeded team will be named the host in each round and the winner of the NEWMAC title will earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
