Springfield, Mass. – March 24, 2026 – Three student-athletes from the Springfield College men's basketball program were recently named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
This year's Springfield College men's basketball recipients included
Xoren Livingston (Wayland, Mass.),
John Paulino (New Bedford, Mass.) and
Josiah Evely (Toronto, Ontario). Paulino earned the honor for the third straight season, Livingston is now a two-time honoree, while Evely was named to the Team for the first time in his career.
Livingston, an exercise science major with a 3.76 grade point average, played in 26 games and averaged 6.5 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game. The junior produced 169 total points and 55 total boards coming off the bench for the Pride during the majority of the season. He scored a season-high 17 points against Colby College in the Naismith Classic on December 31.
Paulino, an exercise science major with a 3.68 grade point average, played and started in all 26 contests for the Pride during his senior campaign. The point guard averaged 4.5 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game ultimately totaling 117 points, 103 rebounds and 65 assists on the year.
Evely, a computer science major with a 3.50 grade point average, was Springfield's leading scorer during the 2025-26 season as he averaged 10.6 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game to go along with 46 assists, 41 steals and 19 blocks. Evely totaled 265 points shooting at a 40.0-percent clip from the floor in 25 total contests this year.
As a team, Springfield produced eight wins in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play – the most under head coach
Michael McClendon. The Pride also reached the NEWMAC Tournament for the second consecutive year.
