Marlborough, Mass. - March 2, 2026 - Springfield College men's lacrosse senior Ian Cote (Lake Stevens, Wash.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for his impressive showing against Union. 

Cote led Springfield to a thrilling 9-8 win against Union on Thursday as he made a career-high 20 saves, with a .714 save percentage for the Pride. He was also credited with the first win of his collegiate career between the pipes this week in the victory over the Garnet Chargers.

The Pride will travel to Keene State on Tuesday for a2:00 pm matchup.
