Box Score Springfield, Mass. – March 26, 2026 – The Springfield College baseball team bounced back this afternoon with a 14-9 non-conference win over Elms at Archie Allen Field.
Springfield picked up its tenth win of the spring and is now 10-5 on the year, while Elms dropped to 6-6.
The Pride led 4-2 after three frames as
Jack Dunaisky (Longmeadow, Mass.) notched an RBI single to left for Springfield's initial run in the first. A two-run double by
Tyler Casey (Wallingford, Conn.) plated both
Ryan Duffy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) and
Luke Barone (Monroe, N.Y.) in the second before a sacrifice fly by
Chris Balchius (Norwalk, Conn.) made it 4-2 in the third.
Springfield then outscored Elms 9-2 over the middle three frames highlighted by a five spot in the sixth. A sacrifice fly by Barone paired with RBI knocks by both Casey and
Michael Lepere (Beacon, N.Y.) extended Springfield's lead to 13-4.
Elms rallied for five runs of its own in the top of the eighth, but
Aaron Little (Ludlow, Mass.) shut the door on the Blazers as Springfield picked up the 14-9 midweek victory. Springfield took advantage of eight Elms errors.
Springfield now has ten wins in its first 15 games of the year under first-year head coach
Chad Shade.
Springfield will host Emerson College in its NEWMAC opening doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12:00 pm.
