NEWMAC Championships Carry On For Men's Swimming and Diving

Cambridge, Mass. - February 18, 2022 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team continued its competition in the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Friday night at MIT and reached to fourth in the standings. 

As a team, Springfield has 282 points, and trails MIT (544), Coast Guard (347), and WPI (322).

Springfield's 200 free relay started the evening off strong with a combined 1:25.28.

Erik Jensen (Hainesport, N.J.) put together a 4:37.71 outing in the 500 free for a sixth place finish, meanwhile, James Chan (Hong Kong) followed just behind Jensen with a 4:38.74 time. The best time in 200 IM for Springfield came from Antonio Anastasiades (Wakefield, Mass.) as he touched in 1:54.45. Dominic Marco (Bath, Maine) raced off for a 1:56.74 time, before Jonathan Chan (Hong Kong) touched at 156.98 in the event. 

Springfield closed out the evening with a 400 medley relay performance of 3:26.08.
