Worcester, Mass. – December 8, 2025 – The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the 2025 Gompei Invitational on Sunday evening on the campus of WPI.

In the combined team scoring meet, Springfield finished sixth overall with 3270 points. Host WPI won the meet with 8752 points, Division II Bentley University finished second with 5091 points and Division I Saint Peter's University finished third with 4288.5 points.

Viet-Anh Nguyen (East Longmeadow, Mass.) had the best finish of the final session as he took fourth in the 50-breast in a time of 26.95. He was followed in the event by Spencer Studley (Meriden, Conn.) in 28.07, Nick Hall (West Hartford, Conn.) in 28.87, Ben Terentiyev (Melrose, Mass.) in 29.36, Jason Kim (Shelton, Conn.) in 30.00 and Brandon Medeiros (Westport, Mass.) in 30.71.

Nguyen teamed up with Matt Quinney (Belchertown, Mass.), Dan Backlund (Duxbury, Mass.) and Zavier Villanueva (Wilbraham, Mass.) for fifth place in the 400-free relay in 3:10.78. Backlund and Quinney went on to take fifth (46.84) and ninth (47.37), respectively, in the 100-free, while Nguyen touched the wall in 48.50, Villanueva clocked a 49.78 and Riley Hester (Barkhamsted, Conn.) clocked a 50.73.

Hester, Hall, Greg Kratz (South Windsor, Conn.) and John Szucs (Brewster, Mass.) all competed in the 1650-free as Hester led the group in sixth with a time of 16:54.75. Hester was followed by Hall in seventh (17:28.09), Kratz in 13th in 18:18.30 and Szucs in 17th in 19:23.17.

Charles Deaton (Bluffton, S.C.) led the Pride in the 200-back in 2:01.10, Terentiyev led Springfield in the 100-IM in 58.21 and Dawson Milligan (Forestdale, Mass.) led Springfield in the 200-fly in 2:01.99 with Hester winning the B Final in 1:57.26.
