Norton, Mass. - April 16, 2022 - The Springfield College men's tennis fell on the road at Wheaton College, 9-0, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) meeting.
In doubles, Springfield's No. 2 team of Zachary Taub (New Windsor, N.Y.) and Jiahe Ye (Bejing, China) dropped an 8-4 decision. The Pride battled tough in singles play as it was edged in a pair of three-set matches, with Lucas Van Deventer (Ellington, Conn.) being clipped 7-6, 5-7, 10-8 at No. 6 and Ye falling 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 at No. 4.
Springfield travels to Babson on Wednesday for its next outing.
