Springfield, Mass. – July 16, 2024 – Springfield College women's gymnastics graduate
student Sophia LeBlanc (Waltham, Mass.) has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-America Second Team for her hard work both in the gym and in the classroom this year.
LeBlanc is the second Springfield student-athlete to earn Academic All-America accolades in 2023-24 joining football senior Arsen Shtefan, who was also placed on the Second Team in the fall. LeBlanc is also the 68th student-athlete in Springfield College history and fifth in Springfield College women's gymnastics history to earn the prestigious award.
LeBlanc earned All-America accolades as the national runner-up in the all-around competition at the 2024 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships with a score of 38.745 (9.800 floor, 9.650 beam, 9.550 uneven bars, 9.475 vault). She also helped the Pride break the school record in the floor exercise during a tri-meet with Brockport and Ursinus as Springfield totaled a mark of 48.775.
As a team, the Springfield College women's gymnastics team finished the year with a sixth place finish at the NCGA East Regional Championships and saw five student-athletes compete at the NCGA National Championships
