New London, Conn. – October 18, 2025 – The Springfield College men's cross country team finished 19th overall at the 2025 Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday morning at Harkness Park.
Springfield produced a team score of 570 points among a competitive field that featured seven nationally ranked programs including No. 4 NYU, No. 8 Williams, No. 9 Tufts, No. 12 Amherst, No. 23 MIT, No. 26 Wesleyan and No. 28 Middlebury.
Andrew Petropulos (Williamstown, Mass.) once again paced the Springfield harriers with an 86th place finish with a time of 26:55.52. In the field of over 350 runners,
Gabe Schaeffer (Selinsgrove, Pa.) finished 126th in 27:27.37,
Jeremiah Singer (Barnstable, Mass.) placed 140th in 27:35.07,
Ty Sanges (Gloversville, N.Y.) took 176th in 27:55.37 and
Harry Yablon (Bellport, N.Y.) placed 200th in 28:09.03 to round out the top-five runners for the Pride.
Springfield seven additional runners compete in the meet including
Jacob Merenda (Madison, Conn.) who ran a 28:30.59,
Slade Harding (Malden, Mass.), who clocked a 28:32.10,
Elijah Quinn (Holyoke, Mass.), who ran a 29:07.46 and
Ayden Collura (Rocky Hill, Conn.), who crossed the line in 29:12.79.
Matthew Lara (Haddam, Conn.) clocked a time of 30:32.85,
Matthias Cambi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) ran a 31:27.53 and
Austyn Neidel (Glastonbury, Conn.) ran a 32:55.42.
Springfield will travel to Attleboro for the NEWMAC Championships on Saturday November 1 to begin its postseason competition.
