Springfield, Mass. – May 22, 2025 – The Springfield College men's swimming and diving program had four student-athletes honored for their academic and athletic excellence by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) as they were all named to the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District Men's Swimming and Diving Team.
The quartet of
Christian Butler (North Haven, Conn.),
Jonathan Chan (Hong Kong),
Ryan Goolsbey (East Lyme, Conn.) and
Matt Quinney (Belchertown, Mass.) garnered the regional academic honor, which was selected by College Sports Communicators and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Butler, a health science major with a 3.62 grade point average, ended his sophomore season at the NCAA Division III National Championships with a 21st place finish on the 3-meter board (397.50) and a 22nd place finish on the 1-meter board (390.45).
