Attleboro, Mass. – August, 30, 2025 - The Springfield College men's cross country team began its 2025 campaign with a seventh place finish at the Suffolk Short Course Classic on Saturday morning.
In a field that consisted of a majority of the program's from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) as well as a handful of Division I programs, the Pride produced 221 points and were paced by
Andrew Petropulos (Williamstown, Mass.), who ran the five kilometer course in 17:08.71 crossing the line in 54th overall.
Gabe Schaeffer (Selinsgrove, Pa.) produced a time of 17:10.11 for 55th,
Harry Yablon (Bellport, N.Y.)clocked a time of 17:14.02 for 56th,
Elijah Quinn (Holyoke, Mass.) notched a time of 17:24.69 for 62nd and
Jeremiah Singer (Barnstable, Mass.) crossed the line in 17:35.42 for 71st to round out Springfield's top five finishers.
Just outside the top five for the Pride were
Ty Sanges (Gloversville, N.Y.) in 17:43.51,
Jacob Merenda (Madison, Conn.) in 17:50.12,
Matthew Lara (Haddam, Conn.) in 17:55.65,
Slade Harding (Malden, Mass.) in 18:02.21,
Ayden Collura (Rocky Hill, Conn.) in 18:48.56,
Austyn Neidel (Glastonbury, Conn.) in 19:20.62 and
Matthias Cambi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in 20:07.44.
Springfield will return to action on Saturday, September 20 at the Wesleyan University Cardinal Invitational at the Wes Furhman '05 Trails Cross Country Course.
