Men's Track and Field Post Regional and National Marks at Massasoit Classic

Springfield, Mass. – January 24, 2026 – The Springfield College men's track and field team hosted the 2026 Massasoit Classic inside the Springfield College Field House on Saturday afternoon. The meet was non-scoring, but the Pride put together some impressive performances both regionally and nationally.

In the field events, Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) posted a first place finish in the high jump clearing 1.97-meters, which ranks him 36th in Division III this season, while Alex McKenney (Ossining, N.Y.) took runner-up honors in the pole vault clearing 4.30-meters. Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) also took second place in the triple jump with a best leap of 13.65-meters.

For the throwers, Peyton Blanchard (Kennebunk, Maine) won the shot put with a best toss of 13.91-meters and was closely followed by Bryce Ray (Dayton, Maine) in third with a mark of 13.50-meters. Blanchard also paced the Pride in the weight throw finishing fifth with a toss of 14.82-meters.

On the track, the 4x400-meter relay team of Parker Ruger (Rhinebeck, N.Y.)Colin Hansen (Ipswich, Mass.)Caleb March (Hampden, Maine) and Seth Twarog (Hubbardston, Mass.) earned a first place finish clocking a 3:23.37, ranking the quartet 15th nationally this season. Hansen and Luca Kabel (Merrimack, N.H.) also went 1-2 in the 200-meter dash with times of 22.64 and 22.69, respectively, while Ruger finished third in the 400-meter dash in 51.14.

Slade Harding (Malden, Mass.) produced a first place finish leading three Springfield runners to top-four finishes in the 1000-meter run. Harding won in 2:40.84 and was followed in second by Ty Sanges (Gloversville, N.Y.) in 2:41.96 and Jeremiah Singer (Barnstable, Mass.)  in fourth in 2:42.31.

Shane Erb (Marion, Iowa) recorded a runner-up finish in the mile in 4:20.48, Gabe Schaeffer (Selinsgrove, Pa.) took second in the 3000-meter run in 9:21.95 and Kabel took third in the 60-meter dash in 7.13 to round out Saturday's highlights for the Pride.

Springfield will travel to the Track at New Balance for next Sunday's New England Small College Invitational.
