Collegeville, Pa. – May 14, 2026 – The Springfield College men's track and field team competed at both the AARTFC Outdoor Championships and the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday in hopes of punching some tickets to nationals.
At the AARTFC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ursinus College, Springfield sent eight student-athletes to compete.
Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) pushed his way up the national leaderboard as his third place finish in the triple jump (14.65-meters) currently ranks 19th in the country this year. With selections being released tomorrow for the NCAA Division III National Championships, the top-22 in each event will qualify.
Colin Hansen (Ipswich, Mass.) finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in 48.37, while
Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.49.
Ben Cachiguango (Amherst, Mass.) also produced a top-10 finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.08.
Luca Kabel (Merrimack, N.H.)rounded out the highlights on the track as he clocked a 11.05 in the prelims of the 100-meter dash.
Christopher Clark (Chicopee, Mass.) finished 13th in the javelin with a mark of 53.58-meters to wrap up his rookie season.
At MIT,
Shane Erb (Marion, Iowa) competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and finished eighth in 9:35.14.
NCAA selections will be released tomorrow morning. Those who currently sit inside the top-22 include Anderson in the 110-meter hurdles (15th) and McGlashan (19th).
