Springfield, Mass. – May 2, 2026 – The Springfield College men's track and field team produced a ninth place finish at the 2026 New England Division III Championships held on Springfield's Blake Track over the weekend.
WPI won the meet with 115 points, UMass Dartmouth and Wesleyan tied for second with 56 points and Bowdoin took fourth with 50 points.
Springfield saw first place finishes by both
Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) and
Colin Hansen (Ipswich, Mass.) in the sprints this afternoon as Anderson won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.26-seconds and Hansen won the 400-meter dash in 48.13-seconds. Behind Hansen in the 400-meter dash was
Parker Ruger (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) in eighth in 49.62.
Ruger teamed up with
Caleb March (Hampden, Maine),
Tyler Fabbri (Andover, Mass.) and Hansen for second place in the 4x400-meter relay clocking a time of 3:17.28.
Luca Kabel (Merrimack, N.H.) produced a sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash in 22.43-seconds and then teamed up with
Tyler Davis (East Hartford, Conn.),
Raymond Brunson (Durham, N.C.) and
Ari Papadimitriou (Shelton, Conn.) for tenth in the 4x100-meter relay in 43.07-seconds. Rounding out the highlights on the track was
Ben Cachiguango (Amherst, Mass.), who took 15th in 55.64-seconds.
Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) produced the best finish for the Pride in the field events as he took third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.17-meters. He was followed in sixth by
Mitchell Krasco (Orange, Mass.)with a leap of 14.00-meters.
Martin Nyagilo (Randolph, mass.) recorded an eighth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 14.45-meters and was followed in 13th by
Bryce Ray (Dayton, Maine) with a mark of 13.94-meters.
Alex McKenney (Ossining, N.Y.) cleared 4.25-meters for 15th in the pole vault,
Christopher Clark (Chicopee, Mass.) posted a throw of 47.15-meters for 15th in the javelin and
Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) cleared 1.87-meters for 16th in the high jump.
Springfield will travel to Williams College for the Farley Inter-Regional meet next weekend. There are now just two weekend meets left prior to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
