Medford, Mass. - February 14, 2026 - The Springfield College men's track and field team competed in the Tufts Cupid Challenge and Harvard Crimson Open against some of the top competition in the region.
At Tufts, Gabe Schaeffer (Sellingsgrove, Pa.) led the Pride in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:54.38 while Jeremiah Singer (Barnstable, Mass.) finished in 4:44.56 in the one mile run.Â
Joshua Goffe (Senoia, Ga.) took second place in the 60-meter dash invite crossing the finish line at 6.90 as Tyler Davis (East Hartford, Conn.) ran a 7.29 in the 60-meter dash open which was good for an eighth place finish.
In the 400-meter dash, Ben Cachiguango (Amherst, Mass.) came in ninth with a time of 52.90 and Chris West (Dryden, N.Y.) finished 16th at 53.90 in a pool of over 40 competitors. Mathieu Soucy (Orange, Mass.) finished eleventh with a time of 23.40 in the 200-meter dash.Â
Slade Harding (Malden, Mass.) took fourth place in the 1000-meter run clocking a 2:35.07 as Eli Burt (Topsham, Maine) ran a 2:11.23 in the 800-meter run. Ty Sanges (Gloversville, N.Y.) rounded out the track events with a time of 9:22.43 in the 3000-meter run.Â
Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.88-meters and Mitchell Krasco (Orange, Mass.) tied for fourth with a jump of 13.82-meters.Â
Both Daniel Hyde (Monroe, Conn.) and Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) registered a mark of 1.82-meters in the high jump as Patrick Dahm (Feeding Hills, Mass.) finished with a mark of 5.95-meters in the long jump. Alex McKenney (Ossining, N.Y.) came in ninth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.31-meters.Â
In the shot put, the Pride produced three of the top four finishes with Martin Nyagilo (Randolph, Mass.) claiming second with a throw of 14.51-meters, Bryce Ray (Dayton, Maine) in third with a throw of 14.39-meters and Peyton Blanchard (Kennebunk, Maine) in fourth with a throw of 14.22-meters. Matthew Krysinski (Thompson, Conn.) came in fifth in the shot put open with a throw of 12.76-meters. Charles Botelho (Middleboro, Mass.) took seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 14.97-meters.Â
Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) competed at the Harvard Crimson Open and clocked a time of 8.30 in the 60-meter hurdles.Â
Springfield will host the Triangle Classic on Friday and Saturday in the Springfield College Field House.Â
