Springfield, Mass. – February 4, 2026 – Springfield College's Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) has been named as the New England Wrestling Association's (NEWA) Wrestler of the Week following his historic performance this week.

Deguire recorded three wins and three pins all coming in the first period. With these three pins, Deguire now holds the NCAA DIII record for career pins, with 93 total pins. Deguire opened his weekend with a 23-second pin over Meeker of Trinity on Friday night, followed by two more pins on Saturday over White of Bridgeport in 2:16, and Harris of Hunter College in just 1:35. Deguire is undefeated on the year at 13-0 with 12 pins, including 11 first-period pins.

No. 21 Springifeld (11-1) will travel to Castleton University for a quad meet with the host No. 11 Spartans, No. 14 Johnson & Wales and Brockport beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday.
