Boston, Mass. - March 1, 2026 - The Springfield College men's track and field team finished fourth out of 29 teams at the New England Division III Indoor Championships on Sunday afternoon.
Amherst won the meet, totaling 103 points and was followed by Tufts (101.50), MIT (97.50), Springfield (61) and Middlebury (38) to round out the top five.
Springfield was paced by first place finishes from Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.), Joshua Goffe (Senoia, Ga.) and the 4x400-meter relay team of Seth Twarog (Hubbardston, Mass.), Colin Hansen (Ipswich, Mass.), Luca Kabel (Merrimack, N.H.) and Goffe.
Anderson led the Pride with a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles as he crossed the finish line at 8.02.
Goffe won the 200-meter dash with a New England Division III record time of 21.29 and also registered a third place finish in the 60-meter dash at 6.82 for the program record. Kabel also competed in the 200-meter dash and clocked a 22.11 in the 200-meter dash.
Hansen came in second place in the 400-meter dash at 47.98 - Hansen and winner Josy Brown Wright of Wheaton (Mass.) broke the New England Division III record that was set last year, in the event. Twarog finished at 49.93 in the 400-meter dash.
Slade Harding (Malden, Mass.) represented the Pride in the 1000-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:34.44.
The 4x400-meter relay of Twarog, Kabel, Goffe and Hansen took first place, putting together a time of 3:15.84.
In the throwing events, Martin Nyagilo (Randolph, Mass.) registered a fifth place finish with a throw of 15.17-meters while Peyton Blanchard (Kennebunk, Maine) had a throw of 13.96-meters and Bryce Ray (Dayton, Maine) had a throw of 13.73-meters. Charles Botelho (Middleboro, Mass.) represented Springfield in the weight throw, finishing with a mark of 14.05-meters.
In the high jump, Daniel Hyde (Monroe, Conn.) came in fourth place with a mark of 1.95-meters while Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) jumped 1.90-meters.
Daniel McGlashan (Haverhill, Mass.) and Mitchell Krasco (Orange, Mass.) finished fifth and sixth in the triple jump with marks of 14.18-meters and 14.05-meters, respectively. Alex McKenney (Ossining, N.Y.) finished with a mark of 4.30-meters in the pole vault.
Springfield travels to the 2026 All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships at the Armory from March 6-7.
