Boston, Mass. - March 1, 2026 - The Springfield College women's track and field team competed in the New England Division III Indoor Championships on Sunday afternoon, finishing 18th in a pool of 32 teams.
Tufts won the meet with 112 points and was followed by Williams (108), MIT (78.50), Middlebury (61) and Amherst (52) to round out the top five.
Grace Flattery (Swansea, Mass.) led the Pride with a first place finish while Peyton Knott (Leicester, Mass.) broke an over 15-year old program record at the championships.
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) notched a third place finish in the 60-meter hurdles as she crossed the finish line at 8.84.
Kristina Kyle (Watertown, Conn.) competed in the one mile run and finished with a time of 5:08.87 as Leah Castle (Ashford, Conn.) competed in the 800-meter run at 2:22.25. Sydney Meeks (Wynantskill, N.Y.) ran the 400-meter dash finishing in 59.41.
Knott broke the program record in the 600-meter run after finishing at 1:37.79 for seventh place. Her time now sits as the top-time in program history, breaking the previous record of 1:38.55 that was set in 2009.
In the field events, Hannah Debian (West Springfield, Mass.) finished tenth in the shot put with a throw of 11.77-meters and also represented the Pride in the weight throw with a mark of 14.22-meters.
Flattery - along with three other student-athletes - tied for first place in the high jump with a mark of 1.66-meters while Aubrey Hughes (Liberty Hill, Texas) jumped 1.53-meters.
Springfield will head to the 2026 All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships at the Armory from March 6-7.
