New York, N.Y. – March 7, 2026 – Highlighted by another school record time by
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) in the 60-meter hurdles, the Springfield College women's track and field team placed 22nd at the AARTFC Indoor Championships at the Armory on Saturday.
DeFosse posted a new school record time of 8.54 in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles pushing her time to fifth nationally. She then won the event with a time of 8.55.
Springfield had five other entries on the track today as
Kristina Kyle (Watertown, Conn.) and
Peyton Knott (Leicester, Mass.) both posted PR's in their events. Kyle crossed the line 13th in the mile in 5:08.47, while Knott took 22nd in the 800-meter run in 2:20.58.
Sydney Meeks (Wynantskill, N.Y.) produced times of 58.92 in the 400-meter dash and 26.37 in the 200-meter dash.
Ella Couchon (Windsor Locks, Conn.) also notched a time of 8.11 in the 60-meter dash.
Grace Flattery (Swansea, Mass.) led the Pride in the high jump clearing 1.59-meters, while
Aubrey Hughes (Liberty Hill, Texas) and
Autumn Bacik (Watertown, Conn.) both cleared 1.49-meters.
Hannah Debian (West Springfield, Mass.) competed in the shot put (11.66-meters) and weight throw (13.99-meters), while
Emma Barnes (Saco, Maine) rounded out the highlights with a toss of 10.95-meters in the shot put.
Springfield will now await for the NCAA to release its qualifiers for the 2026 Division III Indoor National Championships, which will take place next weekend in Alabama. Selections will be finalized tomorrow after last chance meets are complete.
