La Crosse, Wis. – May 23, 2026 – Springfield College junior
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) made the most of her first trip the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships this weekend finishing fourth in the country in the 100-meter hurdles.
DeFosse, who has now appeared on the national stage three times in her career (two indoor, one outdoor) claimed the second All-America accolade of the 2025-26 academic year and third of her collegiate career with her fourth place finish today in the 100-meter hurdles.
DeFosse put up a qualifying time of 13.85-seconds in yesterday's preliminary heat, which was the second fastest among the group of 22 student-athletes from across the nation, and just 0.03 seconds off her school record entry time. She returned this afternoon and put up a school record time of 13.78-seconds cementing her spot as an All-American. Her time was not only a school record, but sits just outside the top-10 all-time in Division III women's track and field history.
DeFosse earned All-America accolades in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2025 and 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships (fifth in 2026, seventh in 2025) and collected her third career All-America award at today's NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships (fourth place).
DeFosse collected five points for Springfield's team score as the Pride finished tied for 48th nationally and was one of only 78 programs from across Division III – of nearly 350 sponsoring institutions - to record points at this weekend's championship.
