Springfield, Mass. – March 9, 2026 – Six student-athletes from the Springfield College men's and women's track and field programs have earned the opportunity to compete against the nation's best as they have qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held on March 13-14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Alabama.
Junior
Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) qualified in the women's 60-meter hurdles for the second straight season and is seeded fifth overall with a time of 8.54-seconds. Her time sits as the school record and was set at this past weekend's AARTFC Indoor Championships at the Armory. A season ago, DeFosse took home All-America honors finishing seventh in the 60-meter hurdles at Nazareth University.
Junior
Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) qualified in the men's 60-meter hurdles and will make his first appearance at the Indoor Championships this weekend. His time of 8.02-seconds is the school record mark and is seeded seventh. His time was set at the New England Division III Indoor Championships back on March 1st.
Junior
Colin Hansen (Ipswich, Mass.) qualified in the men's 400-meter dash and will make his first appearance on the national stage this weekend in Alabama. Hansen ran a 47.98 at the New England Division III Indoor Championships back on March 1st and will be seeded 17th in the field of 20 student-athletes at the National Championships on Friday.
Hansen also qualified in the 4x400-meter relay alongside
Luca Kabel (Merrimack, N.H.),
Parker Ruger (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) and
Seth Twarog (Hubbardston, Mass.). All four will be making their debuts at the Indoor National Championships and enter with a seed time of 3:13.85 that ranks 12th nationally. The qualifying time came from their run at the Boston University David Hemery Invitational on February 13.
