Springfield, Mass. - April 12, 2026 - The Springfield College women's track and field team competed against some of the top competition in New England across all three divisions this past weekend as the Pride participated in both the ?Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College and the UMass Commonwealth Invitational hosted by UMass Amherst.

At the Silfen Invitational, Kristina Kyle (Watertown, Conn.) came in eighth in the 1500-meter run at 4:47.59 before Kami Wlodyka (Three Rivers, Mass.) led Springfield in the 5000-meter run at 18:18.27 and Meghan Sullivan (Easthampton, Mass.) finished tenth in the 10,000-meter run at 40:06.44. 

At the UMass Commonwealth Invitational, Katherine DeFosse (Worcester, Mass.) clocked the 11th fastest time in Division III this season in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.32 for a fourth place finish. She also finished 13th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.44.

Sydney Meeks (Wynantskill, N.Y.) led the Pride in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.73 and in 200-meter dash in 26.34. Kyle finished the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.09 while Brooke Ferrare (Waterbury, Conn.) led Springfield in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:11.39. 

Julia Romano (Braintree, Mass.) led the Pride in the long jump with a mark of 4.84-meters as Grace Flattery (Swansea, Mass.) finished tenth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.74-meters. 

In the javelin throw, Bailey McDevitt (Wakefield, Mass.) finished fifth with a mark of 33.13-meters while Hannah Debian (West Springfield, Mass.) finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 12.14-meters. Emma Barnes (Saco, Maine) led Springfield in the discus throw with a mark of 35.81-meters as Madilynn Van Etten (Cumberland, R.I.) had a mark of 41.17-meters in the hammer throw. 

Springfield will head to the Trinity Invitational in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday.
