Springfield, Mass. – May 14, 2026 – Three student-athletes from the Springfield College men's lacrosse team garnered All-Conference nods from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) following the 2026 season.
Senior defenseman
Reece Whitney (Cheshire, Conn.) earned a spot on the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team, while junior attackman
Jake Degnan (Mahopac, N.Y.) and senior midfielder
Matt Webb (Northport, N.Y.) earned spots on the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team. This marks the first career All-League selections for Webb and Whitney, while Degnan was an All-Conference honoree for the third straight season.
Degnan led the team with 44 points as he scored 24 goals and posted 20 assists during his junior season. He also registered 35 ground balls and caused six turnovers. Degnan produced hat tricks in four contests in 2026 and recorded a season-high five points (three goals and two assists) against Emerson on April 4. Degnan went on to tally at least one point in every game played in 2026 and has at least one point in every game played in his career, 50 total contests.
Webb produced 20 goals and eight assists for 28 points in his senior season as he ranked in the top-five on the team in all three statistical categories in 2026. Webb tallied two or more goals in seven different contests this year and notched a season-high five points (three goals and two assists) against Endicott on March 6.
These three student-athletes and the Springfield College men's lacrosse team finished 2026 with a 10-6 overall record and mark of 6-1 in NEWMAC play. The Pride secured the second seed in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament and reached the semifinal round once again under the direction of first year head coach
