Game One - Springfield 2, Emerson 0

Gillian Kane (New Canaan, Conn.) was dominant in the circle as she struck out nine and scattered four hits in a complete-game shutout win. The Pride would total eight hits in the win, with Allie Olsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) each connecting for a pair.

The game's only runs would come in the second inning and Kane started the surge with a one-out double to left center.  Olsen followed with a base knock, and after stealing second to put a pair of runners in scoring position, Maggie Britt (Bridgeport, Conn.) delivered a two-run double to left field.

Kane was able to deliver a pair of strikeouts to get out of a jam in the fourth when she had runners on the corners with just one out. With the winning run at the plate in the top of the seventh, Kane again came up in a big spot with her ninth strikeout of the game to seal the shutout win.

Game Two - Springfield 7, Emerson 4

Springfield erupted for 11 hits in the second game, as Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) and Mackenzie Doyle (Glocester, R.I.) each registering three hits. Ashley Pugliese (Huntington Station, N.Y.) registered five strikeout as she gave up three runs off four hits, while Emily Gell (Trumbull, Conn.) delivered six strikeouts in the final three innings for the Pride.

The Pride jumped out in the first with three runs, including a run-scoring single by Kristen Acocella (Redding, Conn.) and a two-run bases-loaded single by Alli Olsen (Ridgewood, N.J.).  Emerson responded with three runs of their own in the second off three hits but Springfield would take the lead for good in the second to go up 4-3.  Doyle started off the inning with a single, stole second, and then came home on a DeRosa single through the right side.

Springfield tacked on three more runs in the fifth, getting run scoring singles from Maggie Britt (Bridgeport, Conn.), Doyle, and DeRosa. Back-to-back doubles from Emerson to start the sixth would account for the game's final run. However, Gell would settle down, getting four of the last six outs by strikeouts to complete the sweep.
