  • Earned 12 NCAA All-America honors at Springfield College and set four school records as a standout swimmer
  • Honored with the Robert Muir Award in 1974 for his four-year success at the N.E.I.S.A Championships
  • A professional triathlete from 1981-1987; ranked in the top 10 in the world in all distances from 1983-1987 and finished 11th in the 1982 Ironman World Championships in Hawaii
  • Set the World Record in the Half Ironman distance in 1983 at the Lake Ontario International Triathlon - 4:12.00
  • Spent over 30 years as a health and physical education teacher at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pa.
  • Coached state champions and All-Americans in swimming, cross country, and indoor and outdoor track & field, as well as U.S. Olympic Trials qualifiers in swimming and track & field.
  • Named To Who’s Who of American Teachers and Educators on three occasions
  • Director of Pennsylvania Special Olympics Track & Field Program and Nordic Skiing Events
